The Tate Modern is Britain’s national gallery of international modern art and forms part of the Tate group. HCE were one of only four specially selected UK companies nominated to tender for the main Central Production kitchen at the Tate Modern. The project was a Sefton Horn Winch design and specification.
The massive 1500 sq. m facility comprised of a number of dedicated areas; Cold Preparation; Temperature Controlled Pastry Preparation Section; Meat Preparation; Vegetable Preparation; Fish Preparation Section; Hot Kitchen Section and Catering Store. In addition there was a separate ‘Events’ Kitchen and dedicated Sandwich preparation facility in the floor below.
“HCE were extremely accommodating and I have no complaints. Garry Loader (HCE’s Senior Project Engineer) in particular has been outstanding at finding the information I need to know, and getting it to me at times when I was unable to get on site. This helped me enormously with being able to forward plan. Through no fault of HCE, the project ran nearly 3 months behind the initial planned schedule which was extremely frustrating at times, Garry kept me in the loop throughout which helped considerably.”
